Talio builds AI agents that help food and beverage companies sell more, innovate faster and run better. We are building the AI operating system for the industry: specialised agents that research markets, find opportunities, analyse trends, support sales and automate everyday work.

We are a small team in Ireland working with mid-market and enterprise customers who are moving AI agents out of pilots and into the systems that run their business. Small team. Big ambition.

About the role

You will join the core engineering team building Talio’s AI agents and the infrastructure behind them. This is a broad role: you will take problems from an initial customer conversation through architecture, implementation and production, and you will see the result being used inside a real business within weeks rather than quarters.

You will work directly with the founders and with customers. We expect engineers here to understand why something is being built, not just what the ticket says.

This is an in-person role. We work together from our Dublin office, and you will also spend time on site with customers.

What you’ll actually do day to day

• Build and improve AI agents and agentic workflows. Design the reasoning, tool use and guardrails that let an agent do useful work reliably, then improve it against how customers actually use it.

• Connect Talio to the systems customers already run. Build integrations and data pipelines across enterprise systems, APIs and external sources, so agents can act without anyone ripping out an ERP or CRM.

• Work at the edge of the tooling. LLMs, tool calling, MCPs and whatever lands next month. You will be trusted to evaluate new approaches and bring the useful ones in.

• Ship backend services and product features. APIs, services and infrastructure, plus the product surfaces and agent interfaces customers work in every day.

• Keep it dependable as we go deeper into enterprise. Reliability, security and scalability are part of the work, not a later phase.

You don’t need experience with every part of our stack. We care more about strong engineering fundamentals, learning quickly and choosing the right tools for the problem.

Our team and culture

We are a small team in Ireland, and the words the team uses about working here are fast, connected, collaborative, organised, inventive and adaptable. Engineering, commercial and operations solve problems together rather than passing them along, and everyone spends time close to customers through site visits, implementations and events.

There is very little process for its own sake. Decisions get made in days, and the person closest to the problem usually makes them.

We hope you

• Have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Bring 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally building products or systems that ran in production.

• Have strong software engineering fundamentals, and can work independently, figure things out and own a problem through to production.

• Learn quickly. AI and LLM experience is valuable, but the ability to build great software and pick up new ground fast matters more.

• Have the right to work in Ireland. We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role.

The good, and the honest truth

The good part is real ownership, direct work with the founders and customers, and building in a category that is still being defined. What you ship is visible in the company’s trajectory, not buried in a backlog.

The honest part is that early-stage work is ambiguous. Priorities move as customers deploy, some problems have no established answer, and you will occasionally be the only person on a hard problem. If you would rather have a detailed playbook, this will be frustrating. If that sounds like the job you want, it is a good fit.
